• Adding Some Curl to Your Hair

Many ladies enjoy having straight hair. It is pretty easy to take care of, but sometimes it is nice to change it a bit without doing something as long term as getting a perm. One fabulous method to changing the hair with minimal damage is with a curling iron. It will not take hours, just the amount of time for the iron to heat up and then you can choose how much or how little curl you want. Here are several tips to help give you hair a little extra flair.

For the best results, shower first; this removes most of the oil and daily debris out of your hair. Collect any items you want to use while styling, like hair gel, hair spray, a blow dryer, a brush, or hair clips. Next get your hair mostly dry. While it is still a little damp, add any gel or hair spray you want to use. This will help the curls last longer. If you would like, use the blow dryer to finish drying your hair, or wait until it has finished drying naturally. Once your hair is dry, divide your hair into smaller, manageable sections that will fit onto the curling iron. You can use clips or rubber bands design for hair to keep the divisions separate, but before you clip them brush out any knots or tangles. For finer hair, add some hair spray to give the curls a little longer hold time.

It is now time to unclip a portion of your hair and start curling. Open the curling iron and place your hair in the at the base of the curling iron, nearest to where it hinges to the hand hold area. Using the other hand, gently roll the iron wrapping the hair around it until it is right next to your head. Be careful, it is hot. Putting it right against your head will hurt, so keep it a short distance away. Hold it for between 10 and 20 second then unroll the air and release it from the iron. Repeat this process with the remaining portions. When you are done, leave over parallel to the floor and flip your hair over your head, making a curtain of hair around your downturned face. Run your fingers through your hair at the base and add some hair spray if you want the curls to last a little longer. Standup straight and settle any strand that are out of place.
